It was noted that, in cubic polycrystals, the coincidence orientation relationships at a junction of 3 grains, A, B, C, were related by the equation:
CA = ABBC/d2
where d was a common divisor of AB and BC. The derivation of the equation was explained, and models of polycrystals were made up from specially selected coincidence boundaries by using the equation.
