Experiments were performed on the short-term diffusion of Au at temperatures ranging from 900 to 1100C. A complete set of parameters was determined from these experiments by using the Arrhenius law. It was found that the short-term diffusion experiments could not be simulated without assuming barrier energies for both the Au point-defect reaction and the Frenkel pair reaction. Their values were EAu/i = 0.482eV, EAu/v = 0.971eV and Ei/v = 0.30eV.
