A study of V-shaped double triangular faults in epilayers showed that they were incomplete stacking fault pyramids or single stacking faults (stacking fault trapezoids). The use of transmission electron microscopy confirmed that the <101> open boundaries of incomplete stacking fault pyramids were 30 Shockley partial dislocations. Closely spaced parallel, acute and obtuse, stair-rod dislocation pairs in stacking fault trapezoids formed dislocation dipoles.
