The behavior of H trapping sites in this austenitic stainless steel at 253K was investigated by means of T transmission electron microscopic autoradiography. By analyzing the diffraction patterns, and the orientation relationships between grain boundaries, the T trapping sites were found to be situated mainly at grain boundaries with high-order index numbers rather than at those with low-order index numbers. The length of H trapping sites (planar defects) on the grain boundaries was about 3.23.
