The growth of He bubbles in samples which had been subjected to various pre-irradiation treatments, and then implanted with 50ppm[at] of He, was investigated by means of positron lifetime spectroscopy. The presence of dislocations was found to enhance the density of nucleated bubbles. The suppression of He bubble growth due to the presence of dislocations was demonstrated. Bubble growth in dislocation-containing samples was reduced by an over-pressure.
