Diffusional interactions during Ostwald ripening were considered. An off-center diffusion approach was used to reveal a direct correlation between the sizes of the clusters. The diffusion solution was derived as a function of both the growing and shrinking cluster sizes. It was also shown that the transfer frequency of particles between a shrinking cluster and a growing one could attain high values, due to polarization of the medium. Consequently, the power-law time dependence of the cluster growth which was derived by using the present theoretical model differed from that which was predicted by the LSW theory.
