Radiation damage centers which were generated by the irradiation, at 80 and 300K, of Tl+-doped material were investigated by using optically detected magnetic resonance and optical measurements. It was shown that the intensity of the photo-stimulated luminescence depended upon the concentration of Tl2+ centers. Bleaching into any of the 7 identified Tl2+ absorption bands destroyed the Tl2+ centers and led to a Tl+ emission as well as to VK centers. The photo-stimulated luminescence decreased in proportion to the photo-destruction of Tl2+ centers.
