High-resolution electron microscopy was used to show that, in the case of epitaxial Cu3Ba2YO7 thin films on (001) MgO with a 0 orientation, the interface between the substrate and the deposit was semi-coherent; rather than being grapho-epitaxial (as sometimes proposed). The misfit was accommodated by arrays of misfit dislocations with Burgers vectors of the form, ½<110>, line directions of the form, <110>, and a regular spacing of 3.3nm.
