New perovskite-type Li-ion conductors of the form, LaxMyLi1-3x-yNbO3, were prepared. The maximum Li-ion conductivity at 300K was found to be 3.9 x 10-5S/cm, for La0.25Ag0.20Li0.05NbO3; which contained the smallest amount of Li among these compounds. This suggested that the Li-ion conductivity was governed mainly by the activation energy. It was concluded that the reason for the low ionic conductivities of these compounds was that the lattice parameters were not sufficiently optimized for Li-ion migration.
