The natural line of the incoherent quasi-elastic neutron scattering law of this liquid metal was obtained from experimental double-differential scattering cross-sections at temperatures of 340, 440 and 550K, for wave-vector transfers ranging from 2.7 to 11.3/nm. The full-width at half-maximum of this line, as a function of the square of the wave-vector transfer, was analyzed in terms of several diffusion models. It was found that self-diffusion in this liquid metal had an individual and activation-less nature and could be approximately described by mode-coupling theory at temperatures that were appreciably higher than the melting point.
