The basic features of dislocations in quasi-periodic solid-state structures (quasicrystals, grain boundaries in quasicrystals, quasi-periodic boundaries in crystals) were considered. Low-energy dislocation configurations in quasicrystals, which resulted from the splitting of perfect dislocations, were analyzed. The basic geometrical characteristics of grain boundary dislocations in quasi-periodic boundary crystals and quasicrystals were reviewed, and it was noted that crystal lattice dislocations were effectively hampered near to quasi-periodic boundaries in crystals. This was attributed to the nature of the interaction between these dislocations and boundaries.
