The properties of complex oxides with a perovskite structure of the form, RE2/3-xM3xTiO3, where RE was a rare-earth element and M was K, Li or Na, were investigated. It was shown that the Li-containing perovskites exhibited a cationic conductivity whose magnitude depended upon the size of the conducting channels and upon the concentration of vacant sites in the rare-earth ion sub-lattice.
