The relaxed amorphous phase was subjected to annealing so as to produce specimens with various degrees of nano-crystallinity. These were used to investigate the self-diffusion of 58Co. The results were explained in terms of a direct collective diffusion which was restricted to the amorphous regions of the specimens and became trap-retarded when crystallization began.
