A (111)Ni/(010)Ni3Nb interface was studied by means of high-resolution electron microscopy in the [¯110]Ni direction. On the basis of imaging calculations of the atomic structure of a ledge dislocation, it was concluded that its core separated 2 facets with differing atomic structures. The dislocation was of pure edge type, with a Burgers vector of 1/6[¯1¯12]Ni.
