A disclination dipole wall model for grain boundaries was developed which incorporated a dislocation emission mechanism. Uniform and non-uniform disclination spacings were treated, and the complete stress field equations were solved for the uniform case. Two models for dislocation emission from the disclination dipoles were considered as plastic deformation mechanisms. A stable grain boundary with limited plastic deformation was described.
