A study was made, between 5K and room temperature, of the temperature dependences of the dislocation-related photoluminescence and electroluminescence of heavily dislocated crystals. A model was developed which explained the temperature dependence of the dislocation luminescence, and the nature of the D1 and D4 centers was considered. It was found that the model predictions were in good agreement with the experimental results.
