Similarities in the kinetics of dissociation of unstable sub-grain boundaries, and the evolution of disclination-dislocation ensembles in electrodeposited material under load, were considered with respect to a detailed analysis of acoustic emission and transmission electron microscopic data. Phenomenological models were proposed for the description of the dissociation of terminated sub-boundaries, and the evolution of disclination dipoles. Statistical and autocorrelation analyses of acoustic emission were developed in order to compare theoretical predictions with experimental data.
