An investigation was made of possible ways of stabilizing the H centers that were created, together with F and Mg+ centers, in the decay process of self-trapped excitons. As a major method of H-center stabilization, capture of the H center by Mg-vacancy dipoles and the creation of V-type centers was suggested. This process was studied theoretically within the framework of a molecular cluster model, where the electron structure was calculated by using a semi-empirical version of the Hartree-Fock method. For the purposes of experimental corroboration, the relationships between the dependence of Mg dipole decrease upon gamma irradiation dose and the corresponding dose dependences of Mg+, Mg0 and F center creation by radiation were used.
