Photo-induced changes in the concentrations of paramagnetic and optical defects were investigated, in cubic monocrystals of stabilized material, by using electron paramagnetic resonance techniques. Results were reported which confirmed the presence of photo-bleaching of the optical and electron paramagnetic resonance Zr3+ electron centers (T centers) in X-irradiated crystals but, at the same time, revealed the photo-production of O- hole centers. These data provided evidence for the complex mechanism of Zr3+-O- annihilation.
