Stoichiometric Fe-50at%Al and Fe-rich Fe-40at%Al single crystals, oriented near to [001], were deformed in compression at 873K to about 5% of plastic strain. Diffraction contrast transmission electron microscopy was then used to characterize the dislocation structures. It was found that the observed dislocations were mainly <001>{100} prismatic edge dislocations, with a small number of <111> screw dislocations. The details of the core structures of the dislocations were examined by using phase contrast transmission electron microscopy and high-resolution electron microscopy. Dislocations with both glide and climb dissociated core structures were observed.
