Negatively charged centers which were formed in semiconductors by attaching a second electron to a shallow neutral hydrogenic donor, D0, were analyzed in the quasi zero-dimensional and quasi 1-dimensional limits. On the basis of known results for higher dimensions, it was proposed that D- ions supported only 1 stable configuration; which evolved continuously from the 3-dimensional to the zero-dimensional limit.
