The electrical properties of compositions of the form, YxTiyZr1-x-yO2-x/2, where x was between 0.15 and 0.25 and y was 0.15 or 0.18, were studied. The Y content was varied from 15 to 25at% in order to obtain the fluorite composition with the highest ionic conductivity for each Ti level. At O partial pressures ranging from 0.21 to 10-13atm, the conductivity was mainly ionic and was constant over the range. The maximum ionic conductivity was 0.01S/cm for compositions which contained 15at%Y.
