The interstitial Fe donor was studied in quenched samples of p-type material by means of deep-level transient spectroscopy. It was identified by its emission rate signature, its injection-induced production, its increase with quenching temperature, and its isothermal and isochronal annealing characteristics. Doping with Ag, Au, Pd and Pt revealed a remarkable new property of this level. That is, its deep-level transient spectroscopy signal was completely bleached in the presence of these impurities.
