Inefficient doping of hydrogenated amorphous material by group-VI S double-donors was considered. The appearance of an optically-induced activation of S-related donors that were de-activated (or passivated) by H in annealed films of amorphous hydrogenated material was also reported. The possibility that this new metastability might be used to counteract the deleterious aspects of the Staebler-Wronski effect in amorphous hydrogenated material was examined.
