The electrochemical properties of Mn2LixO4, where x was between 0.5 and 2.5, were studied by using a novel wet chemical route. The chemical diffusion coefficient of Li in material which had been synthesized by using this wet chemical technique was at least 10 times higher than that in material which had been obtained via solid-state reaction. In 2-phase regions which were observed near to x = 0.75 or x =1.75, an enhanced diffusion was attributed to interfacial migration. Cyclic voltammetric and impedance data supported this hypothesis.
