It was shown that large-angle convergent-beam electron diffraction techniques could be used to characterize defects in quartz. The cases of perfect 1/3<2110> dislocations, partial 1/6<2113> dislocations and Dauphiné twin boundaries were considered and the identification of 1/6<2113> dislocations was the subject of the first analysis of partial dislocations in quartz.
