A study was made of compositions with an improved sinterability. It was noted that an A-site deficiency was expected in Sr1-xZr1-yYyO3 and SrZr1-yYyTi2O3 compositions, but protonic conduction was retained. The conductivity of the Sr1-xZr1-yYyO3-type materials was higher than that of other compositions. Re-oxidation after heat treatment in H2-containing atmospheres caused changes in conductivity. These were used to evaluate the relevant transport numbers (table 10).
