The existence of a conductivity anisotropy in pressed pellets of solid electrolytes with a layered structure was demonstrated in the case of FeH(SO4)2•4H2O. Texturing of the samples was studied by using the direct pole figure method. It was shown that the difference in the conductivities which were measured parallel to, and perpendicular to, the pressing direction was governed by a change in the average path of the proton transfer. The conductivity of a FeH(SO4)2•4H2O crystal along the b-axis was estimated to be equal to about 7.7 x 10-5S/cm.
