Quasi-elastic neutron scattering methods were used to study proton diffusion in SrCe0.95Yb0.05H0.02O2.985. It was found that the diffusion process consisted of a sequence of free diffusion and trapping/escape events. The resultant diffusion coefficient agreed with the value which had been determined by performing impedance spectroscopic measurements on the same samples.
