A mechanism for superplastic deformation was proposed on the basis of experimental data. In this model, the main deformation mechanism was the slip and climb of dislocations along the plane of grain boundaries. The main accommodation process was the slip of dislocations within grains. The deformation rate was controlled by grain boundary diffusion.
