Anomalies in the internal friction of material which had been bombarded using high-energy beams were studied. A Debye peak was identified, and its appearance was explained in terms of the deceleration of vibrating dislocations by pinning di-vacancies. The energy of interaction of dislocations with di-vacancies was determined. An analysis of the components of the temperature spectrum of the internal friction revealed that evolution of the dislocation structure occurred with increasing energy.
