An analytical microscopic treatment was developed, for the relaxation of hopping ionic conduction in interacting lattice-gas systems, in order to understand the origin of the universal dynamic response of solid electrolytes. It was demonstrated that the relaxation motion of mobile ions was intrinsically non-Debye, and followed Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts relaxation behavior; even without interaction between the mobile ions. This appeared to contrast with the current view that the anomaly was due to interactions and disorder.
