It was recalled that the light-induced annealing of photo-generated dangling bonds in amorphous hydrogenated material had been confirmed, but that the mechanism was disputed. In order to separate light-induced annealing from thermal annealing, an investigation was made of the effect of the former upon the distribution of thermal annealing activation energies for photo-generated dangling bonds. It was found that the light-induced annealing mainly annihilated photo-generated dangling bonds with a lower thermal annealing activation energy.
