Experimental investigations were made of the microwave enhancement of vacancy transport processes. The results indicated that the intrinsic vacancy mobility was not enhanced by microwave fields, but strongly suggested that there was an enhancement of the driving force for charge transport. The experimental results exhibited features which were consistent with a recent theory of microwave-enhanced driving forces in ionic conductors.
