The set of partial differential equations which was satisfied by the phonon and phason displacement fields in quasicrystals was solved by means of Fourier transform and eigen-strain methods. General expressions for the elastic displacement fields that were produced by dislocations in quasicrystals were given in terms of Green’s functions. The elastic Green’s tensor functions for every type of quasicrystal were considered in detail. As an example, the displacement fields which were introduced by a straight dislocation line that was oriented along the periodic 10-fold axis of a decagonal quasicrystal were calculated.
