A study was made, of the thermotransport of isotopes (39K, 41K) in melts, by performing measurements of the isotope abundance ratios. It was found that the Soret coefficient was equal to 1.79 x 10-5/C. The observed tendencies were completely different to those established for electromigration in molten salts. It was concluded that there were essential differences between the mechanisms of electrotransport and thermotransport.
