A new perovskite, (La,Sr)2CuTiO6, and some related phases were identified. It was found that, under the experimental conditions which were used here, they contained a high proportion of monovalent Cu and O vacancies. The structures of the materials were investigated by using X-ray diffraction and high-resolution electron microscopic techniques and were found to be strongly related to the GdFeO3-type structure.
