Perovskite-type compounds were synthesized, and their structures and Li ion conductivities were investigated. It was found that the symmetry of the lattice ranged from cubic La0.51Li0.34TiO2.94 to orthorhombic (Pmmm) Pr0.56Li0.34TiO3.01 and to orthorhombic (Pmma or Pnma) Sm0.52Li0.38TiO2.97. The Li ion conductivities decreased with decreasing radius of the lanthanide ion (table 19); which played the role of a spacer between the Li ions.
