It was pointed out that bromide exhibited fast ionic conductivities in the solid state which were of the same order as those of the chloride. However, the conductivities of the bromides were slightly lower. Even Li2MnCl4-4xBr4x solid solutions (table 31) did not exhibit conductivities which were higher than that of pure Li2MnCl4. The activation energy for conduction in Li2MnBr4 decreased from 60 to 33kJ/mol at higher temperatures, due to a disorder of the cation sub-lattice which occurred with increasing temperature.
