Long dislocations (1 to 2mm in length) in the icosahedral quasi-crystal were investigated by means of white-beam synchrotron radiation X-ray topography. The direction of the Burgers vector of a dislocation was determined, by using the invisibility condition, to be parallel to the 6-dimensional vector, ½[0,-1,1,-1,0,1]; the physical sub-space component of which was parallel to a 2-fold axis of the quasi-crystal. This result was consistent with the conclusions of a transmission electron microscopic study.
