An extended summary was made of the present knowledge of Frenkel defects (individual self-interstitials and vacancies) in various materials. The contents were presented under the headings: Frenkel defects in metals, thermal recovery and reactions of Frenkel defects in metals, Frenkel defects in concentrated alloys, Frenkel defects in ionic crystals, and Frenkel defects in semiconductors.
