First-principles calculations were made of the role which was played by H in passivating or activating O complexes. In particular, it was found that the attachment of H to a pre-existing O cluster could change the electrical activity of the cluster. The addition of a H atom to the core structure of a thermal donor could account for the NL10 electron paramagnetic resonance signal.
