The temperature and pressure dependences of diffusion in monocrystalline icosahedral quasicrystals were investigated by using radiotracer techniques and serial sectioning. Recent results on the temperature dependences of 65Zn, 114mIn and 103Pd diffusion were presented, together with previous data on 54Mn and 59Fe diffusion. The results indicated the operation of a vacancy mechanism for diffusion; at least at higher temperatures. The magnitudes and signs of the activation volumes also indicated a vacancy mechanism.
