Damage accumulation was investigated by using a multi-scale modelling approach. The efficiency of defect production in displacement cascades was calculated by using molecular dynamics methods which were based upon recoil spectra from spallation reactions (1.1 or 1.9GeV protons). Damage evolution was simulated by using Monte Carlo techniques. Substantial recovery of the damage was found at room temperature, due to the migration of interstitial clusters, single vacancies and small vacancy clusters to sinks such as dislocations.
