Investigations were made of dislocation distributions in cold-rolled multicrystals. The results were analyzed in terms of variations in the outer cut-off radius of dislocations, and the crystallographic dependence of the X-ray peak profile asymmetry; as related to internal strains of long-range nature. It was found that, in all of the grains, the outer cut-off radius of the dislocations and the internal strains varied strongly with the diffraction vectors. This revealed a marked anisotropy of the dislocation distribution which was generated by cold rolling. It was shown that these 2 aspects were not independent, and varied almost in the same sense.
