The effect of irradiation upon the permeation and diffusion of H in low-activation martensitic stainless steel (F82H-mod) was investigated. Permeation and diffusion studies of pre-irradiated specimens revealed a decrease in both properties with increasing dose. The results were explained in terms of a saturable-trap model. The permeation of D under simultaneous proton irradiation revealed an enhancement of permeation due to irradiation.
