Neutron spin-echo spectroscopy was applied to jump diffusion in a crystalline solid. The advantages of spin-echo spectroscopy, as compared with quasi-elastic neutron scattering, included the direct visual discrimination of fast and slow diffusion processes, and high resolution in the time-energy domain. The potential of the method was demonstrated by performing diffusion studies in the present system (table 9).
