Oscillatory features of atomic relaxation at coherent twin boundaries were studied by using molecular dynamics methods. A non-monotonic behavior of the variation in the atomic density in the near-boundary region was established. It was shown that the relaxation near to twin boundaries could be described within the framework of a continuum model for linearly distributed surface forces.
