A method was suggested for grain-boundary diffusion-parameter determination within the A-regime of intermetallic layer formation. Experimental data on Zn8Cu5 diffusion growth kinetics were used for the separate determination of the volume diffusion activation enthalpy and the grain boundary activation enthalpy.
