A mechanism was proposed for the effect of dislocation-band electrons upon the kink activation energy for motion along dislocations in crystals. The localized level position was estimated for a model 4-electron system which included 3 valence orbitals and one state of the dislocation-band bottom at a total system spin of S = (0, 1, 2).
